How does iDeal work?

When ordering on-line, the customer selects iDeal as the means of payment and then the bank to be debited in the Saferpay virtual payment terminal. Saferpay files a request for payment with the selected bank. The customer confirms the request for payment via the on-line banking login. If the request for payment is approved, the payment is made immediately.

The vendor (shop operator) receives a guarantee of payment. Once the accounting procedure has been completed, the shop operator can deliver the good or service.

The billed amount will be credited to the account within 48 hours, together with confirmation of payment (as iDEAL receives immediate confirmation, neither cancellation nor credit can be accepted).
